Imac G3 Usb Keyboard

Excluding the convenience of a power button on the keyboard, you can use a PC's USB keyboard with your iMac. I use a Gateway-branded keyboard with my iMac DV. You just have to remember that the Windows logo key is the Apple Command key and the Alt key is the Option/Alt key. These two keys are juxtaposed on both sides of the space bar, when comparing a PC keyboard to a Mac keyboard. Since PC keyboards aren't marketed for Mac use, the included drivers for any extra keys (internet, multimedia, etc.) are for PCs only. For that reason, stick to a basic USB keyboard.

The iMac G3's unique shape and color options helped ingrain itself into late 1990s pop culture. The iMac was the first computer to exclusively offer USB ports as standard, including as the connector for its new keyboard and mouse, thus abandoning previous Macintosh peripheral connections, such as the ADB, SCSI and GeoPort serial ports. The iMac G3 has four USB ports, two on the computer and two on the keyboard. One port on the computer will be occupied by the keyboard, and one port on the keyboard will be occupied by the mouse, so you can still hook up two other USB devices simultaneously.
